Amateur Railway-detective & Occult Archaeologist Whimset Drake once again takes matters into his own hands, as he ventures up North to quell the demonic chicanery of rogue stage-magician Cosmo Strangewood.

But after a severe altercation in the buffet carriage, Drake finds himself severely isolated at a most peculiar station with only his hideous but sensitive pet baboon Richard for company.

As night falls and tempers fray, Drake formulates a letter of severe remonstration. However his thoughts are irrevocably ruptured as a ghastly, moonlight-cursed leviathan-train thunders upon the platform.

Lapsing into a shadow-world far removed from acceptability, Whimset Drake abandons his duty to society, and begins a diabolical journey upon the Lost Railways of the North.
