Jennifer Detrimental has become an infamous name in the North of England, for not only does she enjoy the reputation of being Britain’s leading ghost-belligerent, but by virtue of an almost pathological disregard for civility and an inexhaustible supply of off-colour anecdotes has become a unique entertainment personality.
During sporadic radio appearances she has delighted many listeners with her prickly demeanour and is in constant demand as a guest speaker at various club functions. On these occasions she invariably keeps her audience in fits for anything up to two and a half days— a feat which can be equalled by very few!
Collieries, quarries, guest-houses, lakes, canals, tunnels, roads, underground railways and innumerable cooling towers have all had a Detrimental visitation, and Jennifer hurtles about her business in a vast, steam-belching panopticon loaded with sweaty gelignite.
All in all, “volatile” is the only word capable of describing this robust individual, and we are confident that her unusually vivid stories, captured on My Neck of the Woods and based on first hand-hand experience rather than flaccid fiction, will provide exhilarating moments for a significant minority of the family.
